It’s been a busy month for Toronto’s startup community. There were partnerships (Flixel and Facebook, Wealthsimple and Mint!), acquisitions (Google bought Synergyse!), launches (HeartPayroll, Women&Color) and raises ($61M for Flipp). We’ve rounded it all up below.

 

Wealthsimple has partnered with Mint: Toronto fintech heavyweight Wealthsimple has partnered with Intuit-owned fintech giant Mint to bring you closer to never stepping foot in a traditional bank ever again. (Wealthsimple)

Wattpad Studios launches: Wattpad is chock-full of great stories. Now, Wattpad Studios will partner with the entertainment industry to co- produce those stories for film, TV, digital and more. (Betakit)

Flixel partners with Facebook to power profile videos: You know how Facebook can turn profile pics into short videos? After pitching to Facebook—via Facebook Advertising—Flixel’s Cinemagraph Pro app was named a partner at F8. (CBC News)

Flipp Raises $61M: Digital flyer app Flipp has raised $61M from General Atlantic to continue transforming the flyer business for both retailers and consumers. (The Globe and Mail)
